We are guided by strong moral and ethical standards within and outside of the workplace. For decades we have supported our community in various ways, and continue to give back whenever possible. We believe that through the simply act of giving lasting relationships can be built and a community can continue grow.
Founded by Nuerosurgeon Charilie Teo, the Foundation funds some of the most brilliant and disruptive barin cancer researchers. Charlie’s determination and inspiration comes from his patients, who teach him extraordinary hope and courage. Brain cancer kills more children in Australia than any other disease, yet the survival rate has increased just 1% over the past 30 years. The Charlie Teo Foundation is working hard towards changing those numbers.
The MonSTaR Foundation organises a variety of events to raise money for The STaR Association and Motor Neurone Disease. The MonSTaR Cup and MonSTaR Ball are their annual major fundraisers, comprising a golf day and the black tie evening gala dinner. Cook's have been a long term supporter of these events.
When the Ronald McDonald House 120 room facility in Westmead was under construction in 2017, Cook’s was there donating plumbing supplies required for major works. Every year since, Cook’s has sponsored rooms within the facility, providing support to many families during such a difficult time.
Cook’s remains committed to being regularly involved in many other fundraising events coordinated by Ronald McDonald House.
Your Town is a charity with services that young people can access to live safer, happier lives. Cook's involvement with Your Town over the past 10 years has had a strong focus on the San Miguel Family Centre at Richmond in Sydney.
San Miguel is an accommodation facility, supporting up to 19 families - providing a stable home, social interaction, skills for independent living, child development support, therapy, counselling and much more.
Each year our Cook’s Brendale branch partners with Solutions 360, for their annual SHAPE Australia Golf Day. In 2021 over $50k was raised for ‘MATES in Construction’ - a charity established in 2008 to reduce the high level of suicide among Australian construction workers, and ‘See Beyond Borders’ - an education charity that provides quality access to teaching and learning for kids in Cambodia.
Thanks to our relationship with BuildBITS, we have been fortunate enough to get involved in some great home renovations in our local communities. By providing quality and reliable plumbing products we could ensure that the newly renovated homes, including their new bathrooms and kitchens, would stand the test of time,
‘I98FM Illawarra Convoy’ contributes to a range of local groups and individuals through the Illawarra Community Foundation. Cook's are proud to have had the opportunity of supplying plumbing pipe and fittings (via our Albion Park branch, and our friends at Foran Plumbing) to 'The house that Convoy built'. The auction went ahead in early December 2021 and raised $1,315,000, with proceeds going to the Foundation.
Here at Cook’s, we are of the opinion that it is important to live in an energetic community and be involved. Hence why we continually support local sports clubs and sporting individuals. We're proud to assist where possible, ensuring that kids in particular stay active and become part of a team environment. Listed are the clubs we currently support.
